A maize leaf "recruits" parasitoid
   wasp  as a defensive response to an army-worm caterpillar by releasing
   a  chemical  attractant for the wasp when the caterpillar chews on the
   leaf.

   The parasitoid wasp then lays eggs in the caterpillar.

   When the wasp larvae hatch, they consume the caterpillar.
